Kibeho is a locality of the south of the Rwanda.

Appearances of the Virgin Mary would have taken place aiming there at announcing the genocide which was violent in this locality.

In 1995, the refugee camp of Kibeho (165 000 to 200.000 people, according to the sources) is one of the centers of the genocide where it had 330 to 8.000 victims (according to the sources, 2000 according to UNO), sorted in the school even where the children lived having had appearances; one among them, Marie-Claire Mukangango, is victims besides, like her husband.

Appearances of the Virgin Mary

The Virgin Mary and the Christ would have appeared with three teenagers starting from November 28th 1981 at November 28th 1989.

The three conspicuous ones were called:

• Alphonsine Mumureke, the very first one has to see the appearances on November 28th, 1981, it is from now on with Abidjan (in Ivory Coast) in a convent of the Clarisses Sisters;
• Nathalie Mukamazimpaka, which is in Kibeho where it helps the pilgrims who visit the sanctuary;
• Marie Claire Mukangango which died in 1994 during the genocide.

The following years, other people declared that they would have seen the Blessed Virgin and the Lord. These appearances would have been accompanied by manifestaions impressive: tears, tremors, comas. The August 19th 1982, the children would have had visions (rivers of blood, sliced heads, etc) of the future Génocide which the country in the Années 1990 will know, in particular in this locality.

During the genocide the appearances would have continued and according to genocidary propaganda the Virgin Mary would have been understanding with the killers.

The Blessed Virgin seen with Kibeho encourages the recitation of the Chapelet of the seven pains of Notre-Dame.

The local bishop, disputed for his role in the genocide, recognized officially the June 29th 2001 the first three cases like authentic.

The Notre-Dame church of the Pains was built in Kibeho, the pilgrims of all the flowing countries.
