Khendrup Gyatso
Khendrup Gyatso , (also called Khendrub or Khedrup Gyatso), born the December 19th 1838, died the January 31st 1856, with Lhassa, the Palate of Potala, is the 11th Dalaï Lama (Tibetan: མཁས ་ གྲུབ ་ རྒྱ ་ མཚོ ་, Wylie: mKhas-grub rgya-mtsho).
Khedrup Gyatso, was born in 1838 in Gathar in the Kham Minyak de Tsetan Dhondup and Yungdrung Bhuti, and is resulting from the same village as the 7th Dalai Lama Kelzang Gyatso (1708).
He was recognized as being the 11th Dalaï Lama in 1841. The 7th Panchen LAMA, Palden Tenpai Nyima, carried out the ceremony of cut of the hair and the name of Khedrup Gyatso gave him. He was established the May 25th 1842 with Lhassa, with the Palate of the Potala. At the 11 years age, it received the wishes of monk beginner of the 7th Panchen LAMA. He took up his full duties, at the request of the Gouvernement of Tibet, on March 1st 1855. In spite of its young age, he assumed the responsibility for the spiritual and political diriction of Tibet at the request of the people Tibetan. However, he died suddenly in 1856 with the Palate of Potala. He was the 3rd Dalaï Lama successive to die too young person to consolidate his capacity.
During the life of Khendrup Gyatso , the wars against the Ladakh weakened the capacity of spangled on the plate Tibetan. At the same time, the War of opium and the Rébellion Taiping decreased the Chinese influence. It was the first step on the way, borrowed by the dalaï spangled following, of the suppression of the Western colonial influence, which was felt like a threat for the culture Tibetan and the capacity of spangled.
