Kharaman-Khan Nazare Aga
Wire of the General Nazare Aga Yemin, ambassador plenipotentiary of Persian near the French government, Nazare Aga was born with Paris the May 2nd 1877. He died in Paris the December 5th 1955.
Studies and career
After secondary studies in France, it enters to the Polytechnic school. At its exit, it starts a diplomatic career and occupies several stations in Europe.
Captain in the Persian army and not having never been useful in the French Army, the French government names it nevertheless, knight of the Légion of honor, on a purely civil basis, for services rendered to the nation.
First World War
In August 1914, without making state of its rank in the Persian army and without prevailing themselves of its title of former student of the Polytechnic school, it signs an engagement for the duration of the war under the 2 {{E}} Régiment foreign (the 2nd RE) and joined the deposit of Toulouse on August 25th. It is affected with the battalion C, made up from 13th and 14th companies of the 2nd RE arriving of Saïda and which must enter the composition of the 2ev battalion of walk of the 2nd RE.
This battalion is definitively made up on September 30th and free the deposit of Toulouse, bound for the camp of Mailly-the-Camp to supplement its instruction there. The battalion assembles to the face the November 11th 1914.
December 3rd, the legionary Nazare Aga is affected with the company of Mitrailleuse S of the battalion C, it is made Caporal on March 3rd 1915 and Sergent on May 28th. It takes part with its company in the offensive of Champagne.
September 28th, the sergeant Nazare Aga is seriously wounded by glare of shell. This one is evacuated on a Hôpital of Lyon. In January 1916, it is affected with the 2nd company of machine-guns of the Régiment of walk of the Foreign legion (RMLE), unit created the November 11th 1915.
In June 1916, the RMLE prepares to take part in the offensive of the Sum. The July 4th, 2nd and 3rd battalions spring with the attack of the village of Belloy-in-Santerre and remove it brave fight.
The July 11th 1916, it is promoted by ministerial decree with the rank of Sous-lieutenant on a purely foreign basis for the duration of the war and remains affected with the 2nd company of machine-guns.
The March 16th 1917, the enemy was folded up on a strengthened line which it calls the Hindenburg line. The RMLE takes part in the operation which aims at taking again the place. The November 17th 1917, the second lieutenant is promoted lieutenant on a purely final basis.
The May 27th, it is named Capitaine temporarily by decision of the Général as a chief and takes the command of a company of machine-guns.
After the signature of the armistice of the November 11th 1918, the captain Nazare Aga follows the RMLE which leaves to occupy the town of Frankenthal on left bank of the the Rhine. The March 25th 1919, whereas the RMLE leaves the Palatinat to join the Algérie, the captain Nazare Aga is directed on the 1st Regiment of cuirassiers to be demobilized.
After the war
After his release, the captain preserves close links with old RMLE. He creates friendly “foreign Volunteers” of the Great War which wants to be different from friendly gathering former legionaries. To be member of friendly, it is necessary to have been used in one of the regiments as walk which fought on the French face.
It remains in connection with the general Rollet whom it invites to revive the flame of the “Unknown soldier” on November 1st 1937, in front of the members of his friendly. During the Second world war, he endeavors to support moral prisoners of war. In 1946, it considers the construction of a house intended to receive the large invalids who will be installed with the castle of Saint-Jullin in the Isere.
