Khalida
Khalida Azzouza is a Chanteuse Algerian born in 1973 with Arris in the Aurès, in Algérie.
Rocked since its more tender childhood by the arabo-Andalusian Music and the voice his/her mother singing all the Arab day in , Spanish and in French, Khalida was impregnated very small of this musical heat which floats on the Mediterranean. She sang in 1996 for the last time in public in Algiers in the Room Ibn Khaldoun under the direction of the famous professor and type-setter Rabah Kadem of which she was the pupil during 4 years.
Its repertory of all the colors of Algeria, extends from Oranie cordial of his/her mother to the vastness of the paternal Sahara. Passing from the Chaâbi to the hawzi, of Fayrouz to Oum Kalthoum, of Léo Shoed with Aznavour… with the mythical song Amazigh (“Berber”), its voice involves you in a voyage carried by the breath of the South.
Khalida currently prepares an album accompanied with the piano by Philippe Noireaut, accomplished jazzman which worked in particular with Claude Nougaro and Serge Reggiani in France and with Renee Claude and Gilles Vigneault in Quebec with the participation of the virtuoso Carmen Piculeata in the violin.
“Khalida is the discovery of the year 2006 of the Festival of the Arab world of Montreal”, according to Sophia Benyahia, director of the programming of the FMA.
