Khabarovsk
Khabarovsk (in Russian, Хабаровск , Chinese 伯力; pinyin: Bólì )), is the chief town of the Krai de Khabarovsk, to the extreme is Russia, with the confluence of the rivers Amour and Oussouri, to approximately 30 km of the Chinese border , and to 800 km in the north of Vladivostok. It is the second plus big city of the Far-Eastern part of the Russia after Vladivostok. In China, the city is also known under the name of Bуlм (伯力, Pinyin: bai3 li4 ), as it was a Chinese city before the Russian invasion.
Great Industrial center located on the line of the Trans-Siberian , one manufactures there Fer and Acier, refined oil, motor vehicles and machines. This city has several establishments of higher education, of which a medical college and a school of training of the teachers, as well as many Musée S and Théâtre S.
By the Trans-Siberian , Moscow is to 8.523 km.
The Russian foundation of Khabarovsk goes back to 1858. After the invasion of China, the city is annexed with Mandchourie external by Russia. Initially seat of a fortress, the city developed quickly after the construction of a line of Railroad in 1905. The name of the city is a homage to the Russian explorer Iérofeï Khabarov.
In 1894, the Russian Geographical Société was established in Khabarovsk, and allowed the development of libraries, theaters and museums in the city. Since then, the cultural life of Khabarovsk intensely developed. Most of the indigenous history was thus preserved in the Regional Museum and the National museum of Natural history. Near the colony Nanaï of Sikhatchi-Alian, one finds engravings old of more than 1.300 years. The Museum of Art of Khabarovsk in addition exposes a rare collection of old Russian icons.
The Bridge of Khabarovsk, built in 1916, was during the longest time of imperial Russia and Eurasia.
Picturesque city, Khabarovsk is the subject of intensive tourism. The visitors can stroll on broad the Boulevard Amourskyi with its blazing stores then to visit the local market. The five districts of the city extend on 45 km along the Amour.
More recently, of many restorations in the center town were undertaken to restore a more historical aspect. Contrary to Vladivostok, the city closed forever with the foreign visitors and preserved his international savor. An increasingly many Asian minority is present there. A million Chinese travel there each year, and the Japanese, Korean and Chinese investments strongly grew these last years.
Direct flights ensure the connection with Dalian and Harbin (China), Aomori and Niigata (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), and Ho Chi Minh Ville (Vietnam).
The town of Khabarovsk was also the place of the Procès of Khabarovsk , where twelve war criminals were considered to be Japanese, former members of the Armée imperial Japanese woman with Guandong for the use of biological Armes during the Second world war. See also Unit 731.

During an estimate of 2002, the population of Khabarovsk was of approximately 583 000 inhabitants.
