Khải Định
Khải Định (啟定) (Nguyen Buu CAD, 1885-1925) was the 12th Emperor of the Dynastie Nguyễn in Vietnam. Born Prince Nguyen Buu CAD in 1885 from the Emperor Dong Khanh, it did not succeed to him immediately but was related to the throne by the French on May 18th, 1916. He visited France in 1922. Not very popular and fragile health, it died in 1925.
Khải Định left with the posterity one more surprising imperial tombs of Hooted. Built out of concrete, it mixes with the Vietnamese traditional elements (like dragons) of the elements of French architecture like the flowers of lily or a sun style art déco. Many surfaces are tiled mosaics made starting from expensive imported porcelains.
