Kfar-Hahoresh

Kfar-Hahoresh ( כפרהחורש ) is a Kibboutz of Galileo located at 2km in the West of Nazareth, in a wooded area. It is founded in 1933.

KKL buys the grounds of a surface of 4000 Dounam in 1930. The founders devote themselves directly to the installation of the ground. They resulting from the movement Gordonia, and are beforehand prepared with Born-Tziona.

Until 1947, there does not exist any road access to the kibbutz, isolated in an Arab environment hostile. Yossef Weiz speaks about it thus at the time: " Which wants to live on the mountains must learn how to remain of bread and of olives… Même of Caroube S it is possible to live. ".

Kfar-Hahoresh must face the lack of arable lands, with the carrence in man power and the security issues.

The kibbutz is evacuated at the time of the Guerre of Independence, and the inhabitants of origin will not reinstall themselves there. It is a group originating in Hungary, formed with Tzéélim in the Negev, which, with the independence of the country, gives on foot the establishment with the financial support of the state.

Today Kfar-Hahoresh counts 450 members, from which the resources come from a small hotel, an important bakery and products of the ground.
