Keur Madiabel

Keur Madiabel is a locality located in the Sine-Saloum, in the south-west of the Senegal, 33 kilometers of Kaolack, not far from the border with the Gambia.

History

Keur Madiabel was a chief town of district at the time of the Colonisation. The locality lost this leading role with the profit of Wack Ngouna, a smaller locality, because of policy issues.

The village of Keur Madiabel belongs to the rural community of Keur Madiabel, which is in the district of Wack Ngouna, in the Département of Nioro of the RIP (Région of Kaolack).

Geological physics

Economy

The main activities are the breeding and agriculture. Keur Madiabel is in the basin arachidier, but this production is from now on declining.
