Keukenhof
The Keukenhof is a floral garden located at the North-West of Lisse, in southernmost Holland, with the Netherlands.
On the 32 hectares of the park, the floral companies of the area expose to spring (March at May) their Bulbe S in flower, and in particular the Tulipe S. Connu internationally, the park is each year attended by thousands of tourists of the Netherlands and besides.
It is during the 15th century that the park, part of the field of the Castle of Teylingen, was used as garden-kitchen garden in Gravin Jacoba of Bavaria. There it found the ingredients for its kitchen, which explains the origin of name (Keukenhof: the field of the kitchen ). In 1840, the park was redrawn by the Zochter architects and wire, which had also conceived the Vondelpark of Amsterdam. In 1949, the property was transformed to accommodate the exposures of flowers to bulbs, on the initiative of the mayor of Stringer of the time, W.J.H. Lambooy.
