Kertanegara

Kertanegara is the most important last and of the kings of Singasari (reign 1254-1292) in the east of Java. Under its reign, the trade of Java develops considerably, that it is with the other islands of the archipelago Indonesia N or with the more remote regions, in particular with the China of Kubilai Khan.

In 1275, Kertanegara feels sufficiently extremely to attack the kingdom of Jambi in the south of Sumatra, which maintains good relationships with China. The ambitions of Kertanegara worry Kubilai, which ends up sending a task force of 1.000 boats and 20.000 men in 1292.

This same Jayakatwang year, prince of Kediri and thus vassal of Kertanegara, raises itself against its suzerain. Kertanegara is killed but his/her son-in-law, Raden Wijaya, are combined to the soldiers sino-Mongolian and repress the rebellion. Wijaya will melt a new kingdom, Majapahit.
