Kerbala
Kerbala (Arab: karbalāʾ, rear كربلاء; also translated into Karbala or Kerbela ) is a town of Iraq, located at 100 km in the south-west of Baghdad. Its population in 2003 was of 572.300 inhabitants. It is the capital of the Al Karabla province.
The Chiites regard it as their third holy Lieu after Mecque and Nadjaf, because it is in Kerbala that the Imam Al Hussein ibn Ali ibn Abi Taleb was decapitated by the soldiers of Yazid ibn Mouawiyah.
The festivals of the Achoura and the Arbaïn commemorating the death and the decapitation of Husayn, proceed there each year. it should be known that Al will achoura is not actually a festival, but one day of young person to commemorate the day when God saved Moise and Outlaw-Israel of Pharaon.
