The emperor Kenzō (安康天皇, Kenzō Tennō , or more probably Kenzō Ōkimi ), of his Woke personal name, was the twenty-third emperor Japan, according to the traditional order of succession. One locates his reign at the end of the 5th century, although one does not know the dates with certainty of them. The tradition however allots to him dates of life of 440 with 487 and locates its reign starting from 485.

In the beginning, him and his/her Oke older brother are found when the emperor Seinei dies without heirs. The two boys are grandsons of the emperor Richū, and are promoted in a kind of adoptive heirs to Seinei, although it is not very clear to know if this fact occurs or not of living of Seinei. Although being youngest, Kenzō is crowned, following an agreement between the two brothers and after one period of one year regency ensured by Iitoyo Ao No Kōjo. However, he dies shortly after without heirs, and his/her brother thus succeeds to him on the throne.
