Kent Nilsson

Kent Nilsson (born the August 31st 1956 with Nynäshamn in Sweden) is a former player of professional Hockey which evolved/moved at the station of center.

Career

Nilsson was fished out in the National league of hockey by the Flames of Atlanta in 4th round of the Repêchage amateur of the LNH 1976, 64e on the whole, and by the Toros of Toronto in first round of the Repêchage amateur of the AMH 1976, 11th on the whole. Nilsson begins its professional path in the first Swedish division for the Djurgårdens IF in 1973. Nilsson proves to be an excellent player and it will help Djurgårdens to reach later the Elitserien two seasons. After 3 seasons with the team, it is found with AIK Stockholm for one season, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to play in the Worldwide association of hockey with the Jets of Winnipeg. It will know 2 excellent seasons there before the AMH does not cease existing. The Flames of Atlanta, which always held its rights for the LNH, offered a contract to him. That which one called " Mr. Magic" 6 prolific seasons with the Flames of Atlanta Flames of Calgary before being found at the North Stars of Minnesota in 1985, exchanged for a choice of fishing out will spend which made it possible the Flames to fish out Joe Nieuwendyk. There will remain only one season and half there before passing to the Oilers d' Edmonton, where he gained his only Coupe Stanley in 1987.

It then turned over to continue its career in Europe, making stops in Italy (HC Bolzano), in Sweden (Djurgårdens IF), in Suisse (Kloten Flyers), in Austria (EC. Graz) and in Norway (Vålerenga IF). It will briefly return in the LNH in 1994-95 with Oilers for 6 matches before turning over to Europe with clubs of less scale like the Nynäshamns IF of Sweden (the Second Division) and the Majadahonda HC of Spain, following what it will take its retirement, in 1998.

Nilsson is the father of Robert Nilsson of the Islanders of New York. He is currently depistor in Europe for Oilers d' Edmonton.
