Kenroku
Kenrokuen (兼六園, gardens of the 6 attributes) is a Japanese garden located at Kanazawa, in the prefecture of Ishikawa to the Japan. Kenroku was developed years 1620 at the years 1840 by the family Maeda, the leaders of old the Province of Kaga.
With the Kairaku, the Koraku of Okayama, Kenroku is regarded as one of the the Three most famous gardens of Japan.
The garden covers 114 436,65 m ². The garden was destroyed in 1759 by a fire and was restored in 1774. Kenroku was opened with the public the May 7th 1874.
The garden owes its name in Rakua Shirakawa which took as a starting point the name of a Chinese book written by the poet Li Gefei.
Kenroku shelters 8750 trees and 183 species of plants.
The emblême of Kenrokuen, the lantern with curved feet (琴柱灯籠 kotoji tôrô), is known to be the first to have been the feet different lengths.
