Kenny Scharf
Kenny Scharf , born with Los Angeles in 1958, is a Art American ist .
He studies at the school of visual arts of New York of which he is graduate in 1980. He belongs to the artists who, at the beginning of the Années 1980, created a connection between the medium of the Contemporary art and the medium of the Graffiti, like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. He exposes to the Fun Gallery in 1981 and to the gallery Tony Shafrazi in 1984. Since, it showed its works in the whole world and its paintings belong to the permanent collections of many artistic institutions, like the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum off American Art or the Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam.
Using with complete freedom the images of the Popular culture (in particular televisual), Scharf developed a merry and coloured work rather near to the concerns of the Free Figuration.
