Kennin-ji

The Kennin-ji (), or Zuiryusan Kennin-ji (), is a Temple of Bouddhisme Zen located at Kyôto, with the Japan, in the district of Gion. One also knows it under the name of Marishiten-C (). It was founded in 1202 by Eisai at the request of Minamoto No Yoriie. It is the principal temple of the school Zen Sôtô. It was named Gozan (, one of the five large temples of Kyôto) in 1334. It controls currently almost 70 temples annexes.
The whole of the buildings date from the 18th century except for the chûmon (, carries central) which creation date of the temple and the Pagode on five floors, Yasaka-tô (), set up 1440 and restored in 1618. The temple also contains gardens Zen .

Kennin-ji is also famous to be the place where the Master Zen Dôgen followed an instruction on Zen Rinzai and where its remainders are buried.
