Kenji Nakagami

Kenji Nakagami (中上健次 Nakagami Kenji ) 1946 - 1992 is a Japanese writer.

Biography

He was born in the town of Shingû, in the coastal region of Kumano and its existence was marked by its ascent Burakumin, equivalent Japanese of Paria. It grew under difficult conditions in the area of the peninsula of Kii, which is the theater of several of its works.

It publishes its first news in 1973. In 1975, he is the first writer born after war to gain the prestigious Prix Akutagawa for his novel the Cape (岬 Misaki ).

He dies of a cancer of the kidney in 1992.
