Kempten im Allgäu

Kempten is the main city of the Allgäu, an area of the Souabe in the south-west of the Bavaria.

Its population is of 68.000 inhabitants (2006). The sector perhaps was inhabited by the Celtes, but was later under the control of the Romains which called the city Cambodunum. The archeologists regard Kempten as one of the oldest towns of Germany.
