Kemijoki
The Kemijoki is the longest river of Finland. Born in north from the Polar circle, it sprinkles Kemijärvi and Rovaniemi before joining the the Baltic, or more precisely the Gulf of Bothnia, with Kemi. Its principal affluents are the Ounasjoki, the Luiro, the Kitinen and the Kemihaara.
Fifteen hydroelectric works mark out its course; oldest was built in 1937 in Isohaara.
