Kemal Dervis
Kemal Derviş (January 10th 1949 with Istanbul) is an economist and Turkish Politician . He is currently (2007) administrator of the Programme of the United Nations for the development.
Of Turkish father and German mother, Kemal Derviş made its studies with the London School off Economics at the university American Princeton. After 24 years spent to the the World Bank, it was appointed Turkish Minister for the economy in 2001 when it sets up important economic reforms. He resigned in August 2002. He is member of the Republican party of the people (CHP) since September 2002 and is elected appointed at the Parliament on November 2nd, 2002 on the list of CHP. He belonged to the European Convention.
He was had a presentiment of by the government Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi to direct the negotiations of adhesion to the European Union in 2005. But on May 5th, 2005, the General meeting of UNO, elected it administrator of the Programme of the United Nations for the development would be Turkish Kemal Derviş. Its 4 years mandate began the August 15th 2005.
According to the list stopped at November 11th, 2003, he is member of the scientific Committee of orientation of the association founded by Michel Rocard and Dominique Strauss-Kahn, On the left in Europe.
