Kelly Smith

Kelly Smith (born the October 29th 1978 with Watford) is an English player of Football. She was the first English player to play the United States in the professional championship Women' S United Soccer Association.

Career in club

White starts in the teams of young people with Arsenal and in 1996 contributes to the final victory in Championnat of England of female football by marking two of the three goals against Liverpool. It leaves then to West Herts College but it is transferred one year later to Setton Hall University, in the New Jersey with the the United States.

During its first year with Setton Hall in 1997, it beats the record of goals of the Conférence Is and becomes the first athlete all sports confused named Joueuse of the year of her conference and new player of the year the same season. The two following seasons, it is the best striker not only of the Conference Is but of all NCAA Division 1, and is named Attaquante year during these two same seasons. Smith returns in England and to Arsenal LFC to the autumn 2004. However it is once again wounded this time at the foot. It is at the end of the season 2004/2005 qu ' it turns over on the grounds and marks a spectacular goal of the 30 meters against Charlton Athletic which gives the title to Arsenal.

During season 2006/2007 Arsenal carries out a quadruplet (championship, cut of the League, cut from female England, UEFA Cup), it marks 30 goals in the four competitions. However it misses the two towers by the finale of UEFA Cup after a suspension.

International career

It makes its international beginnings with the 17 years age against the Italy and counts today 61 selections and 21 goals. In January 2007 it belongs to the selection which takes part in the tournament of the four nations in China with the selections American and German. Smtih is then elected better player of the tournament.

In September 2007 it belonged to 21 English which disputed the final stage of the female World cup in China. Eliminated in quarterfinal against the the United States, Smith also illustrated itself at the time of this competition by removing and embracing his shoes after each marked goal!
