Keith Wood

Keith Gerald Mallinson Wood , born the January 27th 1972 with Limerick, is a player of Rugby to XV Irish evolving/moving at the post of talonnor.

Leader emblematic of the XV of Ireland from which he was the captain with 33 recoveries for 58 selections, he symbolizes the fighting spirit , qualities of combat and nonrenouncement which are one of the essential characteristics of its team.

But it also had unusual technical qualities with its poste : one thus saw it making a framing overflow on a three-quarter like a true winger to mark a test at the time of a match of the Tournoi of the six nations or to try and make a success of a drop. It is also one of very rare the members of the lines fronts to have marked 4 tests at the time of an international match.

Wire of former international Irish, Gordon Wood (29 selections), it also took part in the rounds of the Lions 1997 in South Africa and 2001 in Australia  : it thus has 5 selections with the Lions.

Often wounded, it took its retirement after the World cup 2003.
