Kazutoyo Yamauchi

Kazutoyo Yamauchi (山内一豊) (やまうちかつとよ), so known under the name of Yamanouchi is a warrior of the Period Sengoku born in 1546 and dead on November 1st 1605. He is the son of Moritoyo Yamauchi and he was born in the Province from Owari

Kazutoyo placed under the orders of Nobunaga Oda of 1565 at 1582, date on which Nobunaga was killed. Kazutoyo fought for him at the time of the Bataille of Anegawa and at the time of the Bataille of Nagashino. After the death of Nobunaga, it put at the service Hideyoshi Toyotomi. To thank it, Hideyoshi entrusted to him a stronghold ( Han ) of 50.000 Koku : the stronghold of Kakegawa. At the time of the Battle of Sekigahara, Kazutoyo placed side of Ieyasu Tokugawa by bringing 2000 of its men to the combat, it captured then the castle of Gifu. In thanks Ieyasu entrusted the Province of Tosa to Kazutoyo. Kazutoyo made build in this province the castle of Kochi.
