Katsudon

The katsudon (カツ丼) is a dish of the Japanese Cuisine which consists of a bowl of rice surmounted by Tonkatsu.

The word katsudon is a mixture of the Japanese words tonkatsu and Donburi (rice bowl).

In the Japanese students, the tradition is to eat a katsudon the evening before an examination. The cause is that the Japanese verb 勝つ (katsu), that one hears in katsudon means " gagner".
