Kati Horna

Kati Horna (May 19th 1912, Budapest, Hungary - October 19th 2000, Mexico City) is a Mexican Photographe of adoption.

At 20 years, she learns the photographic technique with the workshop from Pesci, with Budapest. In 1932 it consolidates its formation with Paris and carries out several documentary with its camera Linhof for a French agency; at this period Kati Horna carries out its series entitled El mercado of mow pulgas (1933) and Reportage in the coffees of Paris (1934).

In 1937, into full War with Spain, it receives Spanish republican government the responsibility of carry out an album for external propaganda and settles with Barcelona.

The Mexico will be for it its final fatherland and collaborates in several major publications. She takes up the duty of professor within Univesidad Iberoamericana and points out herself for her reports and her work associated with the Surréalisme.

One notices among his works Castañeda (1945), Fetiches of S.nob (1962), Sucedió in Goyoacán (1962), Mujer there Máscara (1963) there Una noche in el sanatorio muñecas (1963).

Kati Horna dies in 2000. Its work as well connects frequent exposures in its homage in Spain as to Mexico and also in other countries.
