Katherine Pulaski

Katherine Pulaski is the Médecin-chef of the US Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) in 2365.

Career

Its first years of career

In 2353, Doctor Pulaski becomes acquainted with Kyle Riker, only survivor of an attack of Tholiens on a basis of the Federation. Their close relation will not lead to the marriage, Pulaski realizing that his/her lover had of other priorities. Thereafter, it Marie and divorce three times, while keeping with its three ex-husbands just as with Kyle of the friendly relations (Icare - The Icarus Factor ).

Before its assignment on Enterprise, Katherine Pulaski was Médecin-Chef on the US Repulse, under the command of the Captain Taggert (the child - The Child ). This one was ready besides to offer to its medical officer a personal shuttle so that it remains on board its vessel in spite of its aversion for the téléporteurs (Sélection against nature - Unnatural Selection ).

She wrote a thesis on the " Linear models of propagation virale" (Selection against nature - Unnatural Selection ).

On board the U.S.S. Enterprise-D

Katherine Pulaski is affected on the Enterprise-D into 2365, as Médecin-Chef, to replace Beverly Crusher, assigned to the medical seat of Starfleet (see the child - The Child ). Contrary to Crusher, Pulaski is however not officer of bridge (see the influence of silence - Where Silence has Lease ).

The first meeting with Jean-Luc Picard is rather cold, the captain finding astonishing that on his arrival, it moves towards the bar Before-All, rather than to arise to its superior (see the child - The Child ). Their relations improve however when Kate Pulaski is brought to proceed to a delicate cardiac operation on Picard within the Base 515 (see the trap of the Samaritans - Samaritan Snare ) or when Picard learns that Pulaski required its assignment on Enterprise by admiration for its captain (see Sélection against nature - Unnatural Selection ).

When Katherine Pulaski joint with Dated and the Forging mill in a simulation from the holodeck devoted to Sherlock Holmes, it is retained against its liking by Professor James Moriarty (see Elémentaire, my expensive Data - Elementary, Dear Data ). She regards Data only as one simple machine, astonished that Deanna Troi requires of him to be present at its childbirth (see the child - The Child ). Later in the year, it however reconsiders its prejudices during the crisis of the station Darwin (Sélection against nature - Unnatural Selection ).

Its passion for the medical research finds its best illustration when Pulaski finds in the middle of an investigation into the disappearance of the US Lantree which brings Enterprise on the Genetic Research station Darwin, on Gagarin IV, whose scientists, directed by Doctor Sara Kingsley, are reached of a premature ageing caused by a change of the antibodies of the children. Attack it also of this disease, it should its safety only with the use of the teleportor, of which it is however particularly apprehensive, to reconstitute his former DNA from one of its hair found in its districts (Sélection against nature - Unnatural Selection ).

In visit within the colony of Mariposa, in 2365, Katherine Pulaski is briefly removed with William Riker, from the point of view of a cloning but the two officers will destroy the two clones quickly (see Nouvel level - Up the Long Ladder ).

Pulaski leaves Enterprise-D into 2366, before the return of Dr. Beverly Crusher (see Evolution).

Personal interests

Katherine Pulaski has a certain fascination for the culture Klingon, even if it is not always amatrice of the kitchen klingonne (a question of honor - has Matter Honor off) or if it finds the Second Rite of Rise rather barbarian (Icare - The Icarus Factor ).

Player of Poker achieved, it united several times at the parts organized by the crew of Enterprise (To be or not to be - The Measure off has Man ). It was also illustrated in a play of Stratagema while being opposed to the Master Sirna Kolrami, of the species Zakdorn (War games - Peak Performance ).

Anecdotes

Full member of the crew of Enterprise-D during the second season, Pulaski appeared for the first time in the first episode of the second season of Star Trek: The new generation: " the child " (" The Child "). Its last appearance was in Ombres (" Shades off Gray "), and in spite of a short mention in Observant observed - (" Who Watches the Watchers? "), one never again intended some to speak.

In the last episode of Star Trek: To travel, final Play (" Endgame "), one however intends to resound " Doctor Pulaski " in the loudspeakers of the Medical Academy of Starfleet.

Diana Muldaur had previously interpreted the role of Dr. Ann Mulhall in Star Trek Original: Return on oneself (" Return to Tomorrow ") and of Dr. Miranda Jones in Star Trek Original: Veritas (" Is There in Truth No Beauty ").
