Kat DeLuna

Kat DeLuna , born Kathleen Emperatriz de Luna in Bronx, New York, on November 17th, 1987, is an American of English language and Spanish singer. Originating in the Dominican Republic, it is under contract with Epic Records.

Biography

Born in Bronx, Kat DeLuna grew in Dominican Republic where its talent emerges as of the four years age. At nine years, shortly after the return of the family to the United States, Newark in the New Jersey, it took as a starting point the divorce of his/her parents to write his first song Estoy Triste ( I am sad ).

The youth of Kat is not easy since it and her sisters must often beg food in the neighbors after the departure of their father. The difficult financial position of his/her mother encourages it to remain at the school and to work more extremely to succeed. It thus starts to occur at the time of local events, dividing the scene with known names like Marc Anthony. During its times, she studies the work of legends like Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday, which she daily imitates on a machine with karaoké.

With an objective well clearly at the head, it is accepted at the school of the fine arts of the New Jersey at 14 years, a specialized school attended by high-speed motorboats like Whitney Houston. At the time of its first year, it peels the classifieds in the search of hearings in order to emphasize its talent. It finally decides to form a group of female Hip-Hop latino named Coquette .

While working with Vain , Kat continuous to be with the mounting of opportunities which can arise and which could enable him to achieve its goal which is to become a star international. At 15 years, it has appointment with the destiny when it sings I Will Always Love You at the time of a contest of karaoké, which is worth the first place to him. It then makes the meeting of the famous cuban singer of salsa, Rey Ruiz. This one offers its invaluable councils to him. It decides to start to write its songs without slackening. It achieves finally its goal a few years later when it is recruited by Sony-BMG which offers a contract to him. At 19 years, it launches a first album entitled 9 Lives which appears during the summer 2007. Its first individual, Whine Up is taken again for the credits of SummerSlam 2007: The Biggest Party off The Summer, which is the fourth greater show of WWE.
