Kasongo
Kasongo is a locality and a territory of the province of the Maniema in Democratic republic of Congo. A station of the State independent of Congo was created there by Francis Dhanis in February 1889.
The locality was as of the end of the XIXe century an important commercial counter. It counted approximately 60.000 inhabitants at the time. It was also in the middle of the battles opposing the State independent of Congo against Arabo-Swahilis between 1892 and 1894 and of the Révolte of Batetela in 1898.
