Kasia Kowalska

Kasia Kowalska , of its true name Katarzyna Kowalska , is a Polish singer, born the June 13rd 1973 with Sulejówek, in Poland. Author of all the words of his songs, it takes part sometimes in the composition of his musics which very often leave the style Rock in which one tends to usually classify the singer. Musical career

It starts to sing at the end of the years 1980 in small rooms of the suburbs of Warsaw then collaborates with several formations, whose group Talking pictures , with which it records an album, and groups it Evergreen Robert Amirian.

In 1996, it represents the Poland with the contest of the Eurovision to Oslo with the title " Chcę znać swój grzech" (" I want to know my pêché"), which is classified with the fourteenth places. The same year, it records Modlitwa Esmeraldy (" the prayer of Esmeralda") for the Polish band its of the cartoon the Uneven one of Notre-Dame of the studios Walt Disney and leaves a third album: Czekając Na… (" While waiting for… "). At the conclusion of a new series in concerts, it gains its third platinum disc in three years with this album. It is tested with the cinema, where it plays the part of a drug addict in film of Maciej Dutkiewicz Nocne Graffiti (" Graffiti nocturnes") and for which she interprets one of the titles of the band sound.

In 1997, shortly after the birth of his/her daughter Alexandra Julia, it sings with the father of the latter, Kostek Yoriadis Jeśli chcesz kochanym być (" If you want to be aimé"). In 1998, it however manages to leave a fourth album: Pełna obaw (" Full with craintes"), which entirely reflects the state in which it is plunged. In spite of a style which slices with the energetic rock'n'roll to which was accustomed its fans and of the texts sometimes enough defaitists, it is a new platinum album.

This new success assistance to be left the disease and the growth to accept a series in concerts to the the United States which it will give two years later, whereas its fifth album leaves, heading simply 5 .

In 2001, it is nominated in MTV Music Awards in the category better artist Polish and takes down the price. It takes part in the concerts of Sting and Robert Plant which takes place in Poland during this same year and records a title on the album-homage to Ayrton Senna, a project in which take part in particular Queen, Phil Collins and Pink Floyd. On this subject she declares: “I was never fan of Formula 1, but I heard of the tragic death of Senna. I also decided because one often does not receive the proposal to take part in some-thing of also fantastic. Finally on this disc I am only Polish, and around me there are only stars! ”

Finally completely restored, she announces to have found " the antidote" with its depression, and thus it will call its sixth album ( Antidotum ), which appears in 2002. With a journalist who asks him what it acts, she answers simply: “In my case, they were especially problems of a private nature. And actually, the best antidote, it is time”. Antidotum will be him also platinum disc.

In 2004, it leaves a seventh album, where it returns to the style of its beginnings, more acoustics. It is entitled Samotna W wielkim mieście (" Only in large a ville"). It is illustrated by a clip and photographs realized in Japan.

beginning 2006, the Polish radios diffuse Dlaczego denies (" Why not "), its very last title, drawn from the band its of film of the same name.
