Karukera Sound System
Karukera Sound System is the most famous collective " Reggae-Music" Guadeloupe. Founded in 1994 around Brother Jimmy and its friends, the group will revolutionize the reggae music in the French West Indies, following the example collective Ruff Nèg in Martinique.
In addition to the fact of having counted highly skilled deejays in her rows, among which one can find Admiral T, Kurtis, Ti Bob, Oliver Stone, Fight or Lovy Jam, the group truly contributed to anchored the reggae music and particularly the Dancehall, in the traditional music of the Guadeloupe, the Martinique and the Guyana.
Indeed, since " Album" in 1998, which saw the revelation of Admiral T with the legendary title " Rapide" , the group did not cease causing the vocations of the ones and others. The members of the group truly marked the West-Indian generations of the Nineties. Symbol of an artistic restoration, the action of the KSS contributed much to the construction of the creole reggae. It is also the first collective known to have invited stars of the reggae on local projects.
The success of Admiral T, just like the current sets of themes of Creole Dancehall, testifies to the influence of the KSS on the new generations of dejays.
