Karl Weierstrass
Karl Theodor Wilhelm Weierstraß , usually called Karl Weierstraß (possibly transcribed Weierstrass in other languages that German), born the October 31st 1815 with Ostenfelde (Westphalia), died the February 19th 1897 with Berlin, was a German mathematician , prize winner of the Médaille Copley in 1895. He studied mathematics with the Université of Münster.
He created with Alfred Enneper a complete class of parameterizations.
Karl Weierstraß is often quoted as the “father of the analyzes modern”. It consolidated work of Cauchy on the irrational numbers and brought a new comprehension to them. Its most known work concerns the elliptic functions.
