Karas
Karas is one of the thirteen administrative areas of Namibia.
The name of the area comes from the importance of the Karas mounts located at the south of the area.
Subdivisions
This area is divided into 6 districts:- * Berseba
- * Karasburg
- * Keetmanshoop
- * urban Keetmanshoop
- * Lüderitz
- * Oranjemund
- * Karasburg
Economic activities
The area includes/understands many farms raising of the goats or the sheep. The game irrigation and breeding develop along Naute Dam and Orange To rivet it.The port of Lüderitz has an important activity of fishing.
The diamantiferous zone located at the western south of Karas is prohibited access. It produces important incomes for the Namibian state.
This area of Namibia is frontier South Africa. A line of iron chamin and two main roads connect Karas to South Africa. Keetmanshoop is regarded as being the capital of the South. It is connected to the capital Windhoek by main roads, a way of railroad and a direct line of plane.
