Karam Karam

Karam Karam (Arab: كرمكرم) is a Politician and a Gynécologue Lebanon board.

Originating in the South of the Lebanon, it is made known for its great proximity with the Assad family with the capacity in Syria. This proximity enables him to be named in 1998 Minister for Health within the government of Salim El-Hoss, to become since, a constant in the Lebanese ministerial compositions. It renonça to present to the legislative elections 2000, which facilitates to him its rehabilitation with the government of Rafiq Hariri in November 2000, as Minister for Tourism. After the cabinet reshuffle of 2003, he becomes minister of state without wallet, a station which he preserves within the government of Omar Karamé (2004 - 2005).

In 2002, it declares candidate at the general position of director of the the World Health Organization, but fault of supports, it is not elected.

Moved away from the Lebanese political scene after the political events which saw the end of the Syrian influence on the country, its name reappears in autumn 2006 like candidate of the Syria at the general position of director of WHO, although it is Libanais. The Lebanese Minister for Health, Mohammed Jawad Khalifé decided nevertheless, in October 2006, to support his candidature as a candidate of the Lebanon. However, once again, this candidature is not concretized.
