Karaïm
The karaïm is a hybrid language following the example Yiddish or Ladino which bases on the Turkish language with Hebraic influences. Language of the Jewish karaïtes, it knows many alternatives according to the installation of the diaspora of this community in the Crimea, in Lithuanie, Poland or Ukraine.
The karaïm is generally written in alphabet Cyrillique, no matter what the dialect of Trakaï is spelled in Latin writing.
In Lithuania, or their presence goes back to Vytautas Large the, there is, since the fall of the Soviet Union, a certain cultural revival (museums, restaurants…) who could allow the language to survive.
There would be approximately 500 more speakers in the world and more than 50 with regard to the dialect of Trakaï.
Used in the literature of the Jewish karaïtes, but also in the lithurgie by songs, the language karaïm also aroused an academic interest in Russia. It has of its dictionary and precise grammatical rules.
