Kansas-Nebraska act
The act Kansas-Nebraska is a voted federal law of the the United States the May 30th 1854, organizing a territorial government for the territories which were going to become later the states of the Kansas and of the Nebraska. The opponents with this law there transfer the triumph of the slave Capacity and created new the Republican party to fight it. This act is regarded as a stage-key on the way which will lead to the American Civil war
Eager to see the colonized Western territories, Stephen A. Douglas, senator of the Illinois and chair committee of the senate for the territories, initiated and supported the Kansas-Nebraska act at the time of the congress of 1854.
Since the majority of the Western territories extended to north from the line from division defined by the Compromis from Missouri, they were " déjà" apart from the territories authorized to practice slavery. The representatives Southerners then acted in order to preserve their prevalence with the Sénat using an exemption. Avoiding this problem, the act of Kansas-Nebraska made obsolete the compromise of Missouri and allowed the slave system in these new territories by " sovereignty populaire". The result was a scuffle between the colonists pro and anti-slavery in the sector with violent confrontations between the two groups.
