Kankakee (river)

The Fleuve Kankakee is a tributary of the river of Illinois, roughly 90 miles (144 kilometers) length, in the North-West of the Indiana and the North-East of the Illinois to the the United States. In once the river one of largest marshes in North America drains and provided a significant passage between the Big lakes and the river of the the Mississippi. Appreciably changed of its original channel, it crosses an area of mainly rural culture to the south of the Lake Michigan.

History

The river of Kankakee, like the river of Plains, played a crucial role in the exploration of the sector. While Inlays and Louis Jolliet travelled on Of the Plains, Sieur Rene Robert Cavelier of the Room entered the ground of Lincoln via Kankakee. Sior of the Room travelled on the river of Kankakee several times before his murder in 1687.
