Kananaskis

Kananaskis is a provincial town of Alberta (Canada) whose name is of Amerindian origin ; it is located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. It counts approximately 12.000 inhabitants and are with approximately five kilometers Calgary.

The site which shelters an abundant wildlife, is mainly protected. A scarcity there is observed: the golden eagles in their migration towards the Mexico. It consists of regional natural parks and protected reserves.

It accommodated the vingt-hutième top of the G8 in 2002.
