Kamal-ol-molk

Kamal-ol-Molk کملالمللک , of its true name Mohammad Ghaffari (also Kamal-Al-Molk ) is the one of Iranian great painters .

It was born in 1846 with Kashan, Iran, in a family of artists. His/her father, Mirza Bozorg Ghafari Kashani was the founder of the first school of painting in Iran. His/her uncle Sani-ol-molk was one of the great painter of watercolour of Iran. He makes his studies at the school Dar-ol Fonoun of Teheran. It is if brilliant that at 18 years, it is noticed by Nasseredin Shah at the time of a visit at the school and becomes the official painter of its court.

In 1896 the Shah sends it in Europe to improve. He studies with the Louvre, Florence and Versailles.

Its first signed work of its title, kamal-ol-molk, is the Galerie of the mirrors . It is a single chief of work in his kind breaking with works existing at the time. The plays of light and the Shah in the center of the part reflected in mirrors evoke the genius of the artist.

He died in 1941 and buried with Nishapur in Iran beside a great emblematic figure of the Sufism Attar Neishaburi.

A hundred of its works would still exist. A gallery with the Palais of Golestan, where it carried out several of its work, exposes some of these works.
