Kalsoy

Kalsoy (literally: island of the Men , as old man Féringien Kallsoy , in Danish Kalsø ) is one of the eighteen islands forming the archipelago of the Féroé. It is between Eysturoy and Kunoy.

The four villages of Kalsoy, that are Húsar, Mikladalur, Syðradalur and Trøllanes, which all are established on the east coast of the island, are connected between them by a succession of tunnels, whose last was completed in 1986.

The island is called, because of its form and its tunnels, the Flûte.

There exists a Phare with the locality Kallur , at the most septentrional point of Kalsoy.
