Kalachakra

Kalachakra is a term used in the Bouddhisme vajrayâna. It means temporal cycle , or the wheel of time .

The tradition of Kalachakra turns around the concepts of time and the cycles: cycle of planets, respiratory cycle, and control of the most subtle energies which are in the body of each one in order to reach the illumination.

The deity of Kalachakra represents a Bouddha and its omniscience. All is under the influence of time, and is to him time thus knows all. In the same way, the wheel (of time) has neither beginning nor end.

The monks Gelugpa of the monastery of Namgyal, temple personal of the Dalaï Lama, specialized in practice in the ritual of Kalachakra since the 17th century.
