Kaiserslautern
Kaiserslautern is a German city and a district of the Land of the Rhineland-Palatinat. It is the center of the Palatinat with approximately 100.000 inhabitants.
Its name comes owing to the fact that the term " Lautern" signfie " water limpides" in German modern (formerly spelled in into old High-German will lūtra since the 9th century). One adjoinit the term " Kaiser" in the name of the city, when in 1152, the Emperor (the Kaiser in German) Frederic Ier Barberousse made there build a castle, which became thus imperial residence.
The city accommodated five matches of the Football world cup of 2006 in the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, renovated for the occasion.
To also note the presence of a club of famous Football, the 1.FC Kaiserslautern (1. FCK), champion of Germany in 1951,1953,1991 and 1998; winner of the Cut of Germany in 1990 and 1996; winner of Supercoupe of Germany in 1991 and often present out of cuts of Europe.
Because of its destruction during the Second world war, the night of September 28th, 1944, the city does not have an historical center nor of tourist attractions.
