Kaifeng (开封; Pinyin: Kāifēng) is a City-prefecture is province Henan in China. It was capital imperial under the Dynastie Song of North (960 - 1127).
History
Kaifeng was capital imperial under the Dynastie Song of North (
960 -
1127), before their displacement towards the south and the transfer of the capital to
Hangzhou following the projections of the Second dynasty Jin (
1115 -
1234). The " Pagoda of fer" , built in
1049, is the largest monument of the city characterizing this period still intact.
Demography
The population of its jurisdiction is approximately 4,8 million inhabitants. One speaks the dialect there about Kaifeng of the Mandarin Zhongyuan.
Culture and religion
Kaifeng is known to shelter one of the last Jewish communities
of Chine : the famous Jewish of Kaifeng. A rather great percentage of the population is of Moslem
confession.
