American Airlines (Code AITA: AA ; Code ICAO: AAL ) is a American Airline company . It is the largest airline company in the world in term of many passengers and of the size of the fleet, and the second larger airline company (behind Air France-KLM) in term of Turnover.

It is controlled today by AMR Corporation.

History

In May 2007, American Airlines served 172 cities thanks to 672 Avion S. There was an average of 2.800 daily flights. The Middle Age of the planes was 10,8 years to semi-2000.

The premises of the undertaking are with Fort Worth, Texas.

It was called in the beginning American Airways Company. In 1934, the company had great economic difficulties and was repurchased by Errett Lobban Cord and took its current name American Airlines .

In 1979, the seat was moved of New York to Fort Worth.

The May 25th 1979, the company knows its larger catastrophe with the crash landing of the flight 191 with Chicago.

The September 11th 2001, two planes (the flight 77 and the flight 11) of the company were diverted by terrorists. Flight 11 was crushed on the northern lathe of the World Trade Center and flight 77 on the Pentagone.

The December 23rd 2001, Richard Reid tries to explode Vol 63 of American Airlines. It was stopped.

Anecdotes

Because of logo AA of the company, American Airlines indicates, with the poker, the pair of Ace.
