Kachkaïs
The Kachkaïs (in Persan: RTL F قشقائی, Qashqā' I ) (also transcribed Qashqa' I , Ghashghai , Qashqay or Kashgai ) is a great confederation of tribes speaking a Turkish language southernmost. They live mainly in the province of the Fars (Iran) (in particular around the regional capital Chiraz) like in the south of the Province of Isfahan.
Kachkaïs are originally wandering practitioner the Pastoralisme. The road of transhumance that they practiced traditionally took along them each year of the high pastures of summer of the north of Chiraz to those of winter, less low (and with the softer climate), close to the Persian Gulf, to 480 km in the south-west of Chiraz. Currently the majority of Kachkaïs are sédentarisés or partially sedentarized. This process started to accelerate since the Années 1970.
The Kachkaïs group is composed of tribes and subgroups of which the Amalaeh , Darreh-Shuri , Kashkuli , Shesh (6) Baluki , Farsimadan , Qaracheh , Rahimi and the Safi - Khani .
In 2006, the car manufacturer Nissan, named its new model marketed in Europe according to this group, the designers having betting that the purchasers by nature they would be wandering too . This at the very least original name created the surprise and was even accommodated sometimes with an unquestionable skepticism.
It is about the greatest wandering group of planet.
History
Historically, Kachkaïs are famous being originating in Central Asia, and could belong to the Peuples Turkish which settled in Iran at the centuries. Some of these groups started to give each other the name of Kachkaïs to the 18th century even front century.
According to the Encyclopædia Iranica, they are one conglomerate of clans of various ethnic origins in particular of the Lurs, the Kurdish and the Arab . However the majority of Kachkaïs are of Turkish origin.
The Columbia Encyclopedia as for it, affirms that Kachkaïs, like other wandering groups of the area, are métissés of the descendants of first Iranian
Kachkaïs represent a political clout of weight in Iran between the end of the 19th century century and the beginning of the 20th century. During the Second world war, Kachkaïs organized resistance against the British occupying forces and accepted the assistance of the Germany, thus becoming again one of the major political clouts in the south of the country. In 1946, at the time of a great rebellion of several tribal confederations, Kachkaïs contributed actively to the fight which made it possible to push back the Russian troops of invasion. The last great revolt took place in the Années 1970, but was quickly and brutally repressed and the majority of the tribal chiefs exiled itself. After the Islamic revolution of 1979, the chief Kackaï Khosrow Khan, taken refuge in Germany, returned in Iran. It quickly was stopped and carried out publicly, shown to have fomented a revolt against the government.
Carpet and weavings kachkaïs
Kachkaïs are famous for their carpets and other objects out of woven wool. The Wool produced in the mountainous areas and the valleys around Chiraz is of an exceptional quality and has a color richer than other wools produced in Iran. In the same way, the bags of pack kachkaïs decorated coloured geometrical drawings are regarded as the best.
