For the former Egyptians, the being of alive sound is composed of five indissociable elements: the Djet (the body), the Ba improperly translated by heart, Shout shade, the name Ren and the Ka , double spiritual which is born at the same time as the human one and which survives after death.

Ka is often represented by a man carrying two arms in opposition on the head and is located behind the character. This type of representation concerns especially the Pharaon because it is the only one to have its Ka with him on ground. For all the others, Ka remains in the other world. Besides to die is said “to pass to its Ka” or “to join its Ka”.
