KWFM

KWFM was a radio Rock created by Jean-Eric Henley, Baxter Thomas and Thierry Berthou. This station based with the Chennevières-on-Marne emitted on the south of the Île-de-France (Paris).

History

This station was present on the waves of September 1989 on October 1990 by taking again the frequency (91.1) and the material (transmitting, tables of mixing…) of California FM which will disappear a few weeks after the repurchase at the end of 1988 from the company “Spot Production” represented hitherto by Gilles Yolle who will leave his place of Manager with Alvaro Gomez. The station will ouvra its antenna by the Rock anthem of Bryan Adams: " Kids Wanna Rock'n'roll ". The programming of KWFM (to pronounce kay-doubleU F M , with American) was opened with all the forms of Rock'n'roll mixing 24:00 /24, Rock, Classic rock'n'roll, alternative Rock and Hard rock… the balance between Nouveautés and Traditional was of 40% - 60%. On the other hand, the titles in French language did not represent more than 5% of the programming. This form of programming is prohibited today in France following the installation of the famous quotas of diffusions. One of the originalities of the programming of KWFM was to propose each day (in week) a innovation of the day which was diffused at the beginning of each hour of 6:00 at midnight, after the time signal (a jingle emblematic taking again a “break” of the title of Yes: " Owner Of has Lonely Heart "). The night, of midnight to 6:00, the relay was taken by a robot. KWFM also proposed several “go ' specific in the form of labels of 1 ' 30 to 2”: The Album Innovation, the Album Captions (the weekend), News From L.A. (infos Rock from Los Angeles), of the literary chronicles and the zooms/tickets of mood on facts of company. Side programs, 3 special sessions were proposed the weekend: Rockothèque (program with the request), KW Signal 40 (40 Innovations of the moment) and Freeway (2 3 hour old beaches without comment and containers some will extras). Lastly, general information was present with 3 flashes per day of the Monday to Saturday.
