KV54
Located in the Valley of the kings, in the Necropolis thebaine on western bank of the the Nile vis-a-vis Louxor in Egypt, Kv 54 is a hiding place for the material of embalming of Toutânkhamon, following the plundering of its tomb (KV62). The discovery of this hiding place was interpreted at the time as being the proof that fall it from this Pharaon had been plundered in antiquity and that what it contained was all that remained about it. However its intact contents and the quality of the parts which were discovered there stated more that it was about a hiding place used following the funeral of the young king.
Howard Carter was not mistaken and sought there the true tomb of Toutânkhamon elsewhere, thinking, rightly, that it remained to discover.
