Kōbun era

The era KōbunTenji (in Japanese: ja 天智) is one of the eras of Japan (ja 年号, nengō, literally “the name of the year”) according to the era Saimei and preceding the era Kōbun extending from 662 with 672. The reigning emperor was KōbunTenji - tennō (ja 天智天皇).

Change of the era

  • KōbunTenji 1 (ja 天智天皇元年; 662): The KōbunTenji era was proclaimed at the time of the eighth year of the Saimei era. The name of this era celebrated the occcasion of the advent of the Tenji emperor.

Events of the KōbunTenji era

  • KōbunTenji 1 (662):
  • Tenji 6 (667): Six years after the death of Saimei, its burial was rebuilt. Naka No Ōe - shinno, not having been proclaimed yet the emperor, had not hitherto controlled. This year, it établait its court has Ōtsu No Miya in the Province of Ōmi, where its inauguration took place in the first month of the spring of the 19th year (668).

  • Tenji 8, 10th month (669): The nadaijin Nakatomi No Kamatari was very sick in the winter of the 20th year of Hakuchi. The emperor went to see it, and asked him what it wished. Katamari answered: “A soft death and simple funeral. ” The emperor, of return in his palate, sent his younger brother Ō-ama - shinnō (which became the Temmu emperor) to announce to him that it had been created the nadaijin with the title of taishokukan, and had been honoured with the name héréditarie of Fujiwara family, which was that of the place of her birth. Kamatari died soon afterwards, old of 50 and following others 56 years, with the great regret of the emperor, who came at his place louse to cry his death there.
