Kępno
Kępno (in German Kempen ) is a Ville of Poland which counts 15.200 inhabitants (2000). It is the Chef-lieu of a district ( powiat ) of the Voïvodie of Large-Poland.
Geographical location
The town of Kępno is located in the south of the Large-Poland, to 80 km of Wrocław, to 60 km of Ostrów Wielkopolski, with 70km of Kalisz and 75km of Opole.
It is with the Carrefour trunk road 11 (Poznań - Katowice) and trunk road 8 (Wrocław - Warsaw). It is envisaged to build an exchanger in the Banlieue of the city where the fast tracks will meet S11 (Kołobrzeg - Pyrzowice) and S8 (Wrocław- Lithuania).
Kępno is also a railway Nœud important. The lines Kluczbork - Lubliniec - Katowice, Ostrów Wielkopolski - Poznań and Wieluń - Częstochowa cross there.
History
The site of Kępno is already inhabited with the Bronze Age. At the 10th century, a extremely is built in the middle of the Marécage S. a city develops close to the fort as from the 12th century.
