Kéba Mbaye
Kéba Mbaye (1924 - 2007) was a lawyer Senegal board, who occupied the high positions in the magistrature sénégalaise and the Olympic movement .
Biography
Born the August 5th 1924 with Kaolack, it attends the Teacher training school William Ponty of Sébikhotane and exerts some time as teacher. It continues also its studies, initially with the Faculty of Law of Dakar, then with Paris with the National school of France of overseas (ENFOM), in the section magistrature.Impassioned by the sport - Tennis and Golf in particular -, Kéba Mbaye is member of the International Olympic committee of 1973 with 2002, also vice-president of the CIO of 1988 with 1992 and of 1998 with 2002 and member of the executive commission of 1984 with 1988 and of 1993 with 1998. At the request of Juan Antonio Samaranch, it sets up in 1983 the Arbitration court of the sport, of which there remains president until his death.
Between 1988 and 1992, it is strongly implied in the commission Apartheid and Olympisme , allowing the return of the South Africa in the Olympic movement. It was, at the time of its death, President of the Arbitration court of the sport (HEAP) since 1983 and chair commission of ethics of CIO since 1999.
Man of ethics but also essay writer, he is the author of works such as the human rights in Africa or the International Olympic committee and South Africa .
Succeeding Isaac Foster in 1963, he is president of the Supreme court sénégalaise during 17 years, also president of the Constitutional council of Senegal of 1990 with 1993 and vice-president of the the International Court of Justice of $the Hague of 1983 with 1991.
He dies in 83 years, the January 11th 2007 with Dakar.
